BRIEF
Maine Business Listing came to us with an idea in 2004. They wanted a way to help small business be able to advertise affordably. They wanted to build a brand and focus on promoting maine businesses as a community.
RESPONSE
We started by helping them define their business model as “freemium”. They wanted to attract new customers with a free service and then convert them into paid members by offering an up sell service with more advertising features. We created an eye catch logo & website that fit in with Maine’s natural look. We built a custom CMS that managed everything from customer relationships to payment collections. We then launched web, print, televisions and radio campaigns and started to build brand awareness. We grew there customer base of 100 to over 2,000 in the first year. We launched the “Don’t be an egg head” campaign, along with other direct mail campaigns and grew their subscription base to over 6,000 members.
